STUDYING AT SAE

What do you most enjoy about student life at SAE?

Being surrounded by other creatives and working with them to build up the skills you would also like to have.

Have you studied previously?

Before studying animation, I studied graphic design here as well straight after high school.

What projects have you worked on?

I really enjoyed my first studio project for design, which was to make a magazine. It was the first project I had properly thought out layout and type and it was really cool to see it get professionally printed.

We also had a unit where we needed to design an advertisement for a local market which was screened on the new Yagan Square tower which was really cool.

We worked in a group for that project and was our first time working one on one with an actual client and not just our lecturer.

GETTING INVOLVED

Tell about SAE campus life?

I mainly helped out a lot for events like Study for a Day and Open Day when I was in design, it was really fun to help out and teach others different skills and ideas to build their interest.

But it became really cool when I started an animation and most of the people I met at those events became my classmates. I helped out a lot in the earlier trimesters to help them adjust to campus life.

During this time, I was also on the Student Council as well helping out with other events.

STUDENT ADVICE

What advice would you give to someone considering coming to SAE?

Just try it. It’s a really connected environment and a great place to build up skills and learn new things.

And if it’s not for you, then you’ve already started building your creative network which will still help you a lot.
