SAE’s Info Nights offer future students or those considering enrolling the opportunity to explore our range of creative media and technology courses, discover their local campuses, get valuable insights from our current students and be inspired by the amazing work of our alumni.

Attendees will get an in-depth look at all these creative courses on offer:

  • Design
  • Film
  • Music
  • VFX & Virtual Production
  • Animation
  • Audio
  • Computer Science
  • Creative Industries
  • Games.

SAE experts will be on campus to give one-on-one guidance and advice on choosing the right course to match passions, ambitions and career goals, while the friendly student services team will be available with support on everything from academic assistance to career advice.

Attendees can enjoy a delicious bite from food truck on site, while they explore their future campuses and connect with our faculty and students.

One of the most popular elements of Info Night is our student and graduate speakers, who will share their stories of how their SAE experience has propelled them toward careers that light them up.

SYDNEY

In Sydney, current student Grace Stokes will share her story of working as a musical artist under the name STO/NES.

Grace enrolled in a Bachelor of Music in 2024 and balances studying with performing.

“While studying, I am pursuing a career in the industry as a recording artist,” she said.

“My highlight so far is running my own music festival and playing onstage with [Murray Cook], the Red Wiggle.”

She will share how SAE is expanding her horizons in the music industry.

“SAE has given me so many contacts with other creatives so I can create more artistic output of a higher quality,” she said.

“SAE is awesome! Being around other passionate people and sharing wisdom makes you a much better artist.”

MELBOURNE

In Melbourne, alumnus Brydon Westall will share his success working as a lighting technician on projects for names as big as Tones and I, Written by Wolves, Nike, Renault and Ford.

He studied a Bachelor of Film and also keeps up a directing and writing career through his own production company.

“SAE’s hands-on creative approach, instructors with direct experience in the industry, as well as their well-connected and incredibly beneficial internship programs, helped me to develop my skills and become a freelancing filmmaker in the Melbourne film industry,” he said.

Brydon will also inspire students to look past their ATAR ranks if they didn’t receive the number they were hoping for with his own experience of being accepted at SAE based on creative output after receiving a low ATAR result.

“Thankfully, my creative folios and dedication were noticed by SAE and they were more than happy for me to join the ranks of many talented and like-minded individuals, many of whom were in my situation too,” he said.

“Because of all of this, I could not recommend SAE enough.”

PERTH

In Perth, SAE graduate Gabbie Miller will give attendees a taste of the varied career pathways open to them.

Gabbie completed a Bachelor of Animation at SAE Perth in 2018 and now works as an animator at Mech West – where she designs and does animations for large scale engineering and mechanical projects.

“I work in mining visualisation, where I’ve been lucky to work on a variety of exciting projects,” she said.

“Being part of small teams has meant getting hands-on experience with every stage of the pipeline, and I’ve been able to have a lot of autonomy in how I approach my work. Some of my favourite highlights have been creating VR and interactive projects — there’s always a new challenge, and something new to learn every day.”

Gabbie said studying with SAE played a huge role in her success.

“The best part of SAE was the lecturers – they were passionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed,” she said.

“Networking was another huge advantage. The connections I made with fellow students, lecturers, and industry professionals at alumni events have been invaluable in my career.”

BYRON BAY

In NSW’s beautiful Northern Rivers, attendees are sure to be inspired by Bronte Dunning, a Bachelor of Film production graduate who is running her own business doing videography and photography since graduating in 2022.

“My biggest career highlights are definitely filming Blues Fest Byron Bay for the past three years and getting to work recently with NITV for the Australian Women in Music Awards,” she said.

“SAE set me up with the theoretical and practical skills that have helped me start my own business, feeling that I have the skills and confidence needed as well as a wide network on hand.

“My word of advice for new students would be to really apply yourself in every class and give it your all. The amount of work you put in is what you get out. But also have fun with it!”

ADELAIDE

In Adelaide, attendees will hear from current student Kenya Dawson about finding her purpose and passion at SAE.

Kenya long dreamed of becoming a singer-songwriter and is now recording her own music with the skills and confidence she found at SAE.

“Being a creative is embedded in my veins; I can’t do maths to save my life, but I can sure as hell write a song and perform it,” she said.

“I’m not your average performer, but that’s what makes SAE special. It’s not average, and you can be who you want to be, and people will help you get there.”

Alumnus Jack Healey-Campbell will also speak on the night, sharing his journey of studying a Diploma of Music at SAE and embarking on a successful music career, and then returning to explore a new passion.

“I started my journey as the vocalist for a Mount Gambier hardcore band called Hereafter, which ignited my passion for creativity,” he said.

“Taking a step away from music, my passion led me to try my hand in the other art form I love, filmmaking.”

Jack enrolled in the Bachelor of Film in 2023 and will finish his studies in 2025.

“I have directed, shot and edited a multitude of music videos and short films, and I’ve loved every minute of it. I’ve received the opportunity to work with world-class brands in the advertising sector, including LUMIX, SA Gov and Panasonic,” he said.

“I credit SAE alone for teaching me everything I know, and everything I need to succeed.”
