Student learning update - February 2021
3 Feb 2021
We’re returning many of our classes to face to face for the start of Trimester 1 - across all our campuses, except Perth. The few remaining online modules will continue to be in place. Please note that if you are studying an online program like the Diploma of Augmented and Virtual Reality, then your program will continue online.
If you are studying at the Perth campus, SAE Perth will be closed from Monday 1 February - Sunday 7 Feb following WA State Government Emergency directions around COVID-19.
All campuses (except Perth) will have their facilities available for students to utilise, with online support being available to you as required.
In the case of Adelaide, Byron Bay, Brisbane and Sydney, we have limited the number of students in each class. Please be aware that the number of students in a class is dependent on the size of the room. We have put these procedures in place in light of the continued state government advice regarding social distancing and to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our students. We are also reviewing the use of face masks in line with local government advice. At this stage, some locations may require the use of face masks where physical distancing is impractical. Your local campus leadership will advise you of what face mask restrictions apply to you closer to the start of teaching.
Ongoing student support
We will continue to keep you updated to any changes to your learning that may be impacted by COVID-19, through your student email, our website and via the individual campus Facebook pages:
Whilst on-campus
Please support us in minimising the spread of COVID-19 by:
-
Practising good hygiene, self-care and physical distancing. We have increased cleaning services on campus and have provided additional hand sanitisation
-
Letting us know immediately if you are unwell and need to stay home - or if you are required to self-isolate for any reason, so that we can support your learning needs
-
Checking your SAE student email for important updates
-
Our Student Services Advisors are also on hand to support you in person, by phone or via Zoom.
We appreciate how challenging the last 12 months have been for many of you. Here at SAE we’ve learnt a lot as we've adapted to the pandemic, and implemented a number of strong systems and processes to help you continue with your learning, regardless of whether that is online or face to face. Find out more about the way we teach.
Whatever happens in the future, you can have full confidence that we've got your back, to help you continue studying.
