Open Day Industry Speakers
9 Aug 2019
SAE is pretty proud to have some extraordinary partnerships and this coming Open Day a few of them from around the country will be joining us to discuss how you can transition from study to industry.
Find out more about some of our beloved industry partners below:
SYDNEY - ELISE HUNTLEY - GENERAL MANAGER, SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS
Elise Huntley is the General Manager of Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival with almost 30 years experience behind her working across many facets of the music and entertainment industry. Her career started out behind a sound desk and has evolved via many other desks to include tour management, event producing, managing recording studios, managing engineers and producers, live TV events, sporting events, large-scale event and festival operations. Elise has worked on festivals including V Festival Australia, Good Vibrations, Future Music Festival, Bonaroo (USA) and many more. She now sits across all aspects of festival management for Secret Sounds Group (Splendour in the Grass, Falls Festival, Download, Grow Your Own, Spinoff) overseeing operations, marketing, sponsorship, PR, ticketing, new initiatives, human resources, governance, contract negotiations, health & safety compliance and everything in between. She enjoys a Bloody Mary every Sunday and has a penchant for Karaoke in her spare time!
PERTH - MARK NEAL - WAM FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
A spearhead in the WA original music scene, Mark Neal started out as a manager and musician from the Great Southern region. During this time Mark created his own independent label Blue Grey Pink, started the Beaufort St Songwriters Club, found his way into booking venues, and continues to nurture and support up and coming original music ventures. Mark has a huge range of skills and knowledge to draw from, including working as a booking agent for Perth music venue/nightclub The Sewing Room, managing local musician Noah Dillon, curating RTRFM’s Tuesday ‘Out To Lunch’ program, working on all-ages event Hyperfest, and having a hand in a range of community music-related events.
Mark is no stranger to WAM either. He was part of the coordinating team which executed WAMFest 2017 and 2018 and has worked closely with WAM’s Regional Officer, Nigel Bird, on several projects. His insight into WAM and the external experience and knowledge gained through his own ventures will enable Mark to provide valuable insight and direction for this year’s WAMFest. WAM is excited to see Mark stepping into the role of Festival Director for 2019.
