London has always been on the forefront of creativity, delivering trends and innovations to the world. Here are 5 London destinations that prove why London keeps its reputation as a creative force. 

1. London International Animation Festival

The London International Animation Festival (LIAF) knows that animation is not just for kids and that the whole spectrum of ages can appreciate and enjoy the animation genre.This is what they aim to showcase in the annual 10 day festival. 

The event screens films from around the world, including adult-centric provocative and thought provoking features as well as fun children’s content. The festival also features gala nights, workshops, Q&As, masterclasses and retrospectives.

2. The Design Museum

With visiting and permanent exhibitions, The Design Museum in London has something for everyone to inspire the creative mind. 

Encompassing all aspects of design, including graphic, architectural, product, fashion and industrial, the permanent collection titled Designer Maker User is a demonstration of how 21st Century design has evolved. 

Established in 1989, 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of this important institution. This year it’s significance was recognised with the European museum of the year award.

3. London Anime and Gaming Con

The Rocket Complex London Metropolitan University, 166-220 Holloway Road London, United Kingdom N7 8DB

The London Anime and Gaming Con brings gaming, Anime and cosplay fans together for a full three day event. 

Gamers will enjoy the retro gaming event where you can go head to head and see if you rule the roost at Super Mario Brothers or Pac Man and big tournament finals. There will also be feature talks from industry guests, YouTube gamers, gaming musicians and others prominent within the community.

4. You Got This conference

This one day seminar features talks delivered by industry experts such as engineers and developers, but this isn’t your typical tech conference. You Got This is focussed on providing skills that maintain a happy and healthy work/life balance. 

Aimed at empowering juniors in the tech industry through supporting each other, the conference has a comprehensive inclusion policy. Including but not limited to; LGBTQIA+ people, people of colour, women, non-binary people, and those with disabilities.

The 2019 You Got This conference is taking place in January 2019. Tickets are still available.

5. Nicer Tuesdays

A series of creative talks happening on the last Tuesday of every month. Nicer Tuesdays hosts four speakers from the creative industries to share insights, ideas and information about their creative process. 

Guest speakers hold varied careers such as filmmakers, illustrators, dancers, photographers, graphic designers, creative directors, the list goes on. There are endless sources of inspiration from the eclectic keynote presentations that detail the stories behind the creative works.
