Meet the Masters
– student edition –
NAME: Maddison Cameron
CAMPUS: Online
Why did you decide to study the MCI?
I had previously done my Bachelor of Film with SAE Byron Bay. I knew I wanted to go on to do my Master’s in film once I had finished my Bachelor and when I found out that the Master’s program would be available at SAE, I decided to apply.
I had already been offered a spot at UTS and when I looked at the two programs SAE seemed to be more up to date in its subject offerings and the classes would be significantly smaller.
What is your career background?
I have been in entertainment and media for over twenty years.
Firstly as an actor/dancer/singer and writer and I have been directing and producing for the last seven years.
What is your capstone project?
An animation feature film script and trailer produced as multi-platform cross-media project design.
What are your career goals for the future?
To have a successful production company that produces content for the international marketplace.
What drew you to work within the creative industries and become a creative practitioner?
I knew from a little girl that I wanted to be creative. I am a natural storyteller and I love to bring new creations to life.
How does completing the Master of Creative Industries online suit your lifestyle?
The Master of Creative Industries is flexible enough for me to continue practicing professionally. Depending on my work schedule and projects, I can adjust the number of modules I take each trimester which is crucial for me to continue working and studying at the same time.
Also, during the COVID-19 pandemic, my studies were not affected; as SAE is a leader in online collaborative learning which is a huge advantage in today’s remote, collaborative practices in the creative industries.
