Byron Bay and Brisbane campuses reopened on Monday following Cyclone Alfred

The SAE University College campuses in Byron Bay and Brisbane have reopened on Monday 10 March following the now ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

The SAE University College Byron Bay campus has reopened as of 8am Monday, 10 March as the severe weather caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred stabilises. The SAE Brisbane campus has also been reopened at reduced capacity.

Staff and students are reminded that their safety during this time is SAE’s top priority and they should only attend campus if it is safe and they feel comfortable to leave their residence to do so.

  • SAE University College Byron Bay campus reopened at 8am Monday, 10 March.

  • Classes in Byron Bay may run face to face, online or be postponed. Students must check class Slack channels.
  • Classes in Brisbane will run online but may be postponed. Students must check class Slack channels.
  • All student services and resources will remain available online.
  • Additional one-week extensions are available for students impacted by the changes to delivery.

Brisbane

In Brisbane, the campus has sustained some water damage and has reopened at reduced capacity to allow staff and students in need of internet and power to work in a safe environment.

Classes will run online, but some may be postponed depending on how our teaching staff have been impacted by the weather. Students are being reminded to check their class slack channel to confirm if class is going ahead, and to access the Zoom link. 

Byron Bay

Byron Bay’s campus sustained minimal damage and some face-to-face classes are going ahead.

Some classes may be postponed or will run online depending on how our teaching staff have been impacted by the weather. Students are reminded to check class Slack channels to confirm if and where your class will be going ahead, and to access any Zoom link.  

While both campuses has been assessed as safe to reopen, all staff and students should check the latest warnings in their areas and follow the advice of authorities. Current warnings can be viewed on SES NSW or SES QLD and liaise with your campus manager or your teacher if you are unable to attend campus.
