Dean is a young award-winning creative in the advertising and marketing industry. More specifically, Dean works within the experiential marketing space as a Graphic Designer at George P. Johnson Australia & New Zealand, where brand experiences and events are the focus. During Dean’s short career, he has already worked on projects for some of the world’s most respected brands. Some of these brands include Oracle, IBM, LinkedIn, St. George, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Accenture and Yonex. As a result of hard work and dedication, Dean was awarded ‘Rookie of the Year’ for 2019 at George P. Johnson Australia & New Zealand.
What inspired you to enter into the career you’re in?
I have always enjoyed a challenge and had a love for creating and building things. I take pride in seeing beautiful work come together from concept to finish product, which led me to want to be a Graphic Designer.
What are your fondest memories of your time at SAE?
The people – lecturers and other students. It was an amazing and supportive environment to share ideas and learn with like-minded individuals.
Are you able to shed some light on how studying at SAE lead you to where you are now?
Being a student at SAE allowed me to continue to grow my love for design. It taught me some very crucial skills that are required when working in the industry and for that I am thankful.
What are your career highlights?
Graduating at SAE with a Distinction average and awarded with the highest GPA score in my course Working for a global company

What advice would you give to students aspiring to become successful in their field?
Have a strong interest, be curious, be honest, don’t skip steps and constantly remind yourself where you want to be.
