Bio
Ruth Borgobello is a Lecturer in Film and Animation at SAE University College Melbourne.
She graduated in Writing and Directing for Film & TV at the Victorian College of the Arts and is a passionate writer and director.
Her debut feature film THE SPACE BETWEEN was the first co-production between Italy and Australia and was Australia’s official entry to the 90th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film. Released in cinemas across Italy and Australia in 2017, the film screened at Palm Springs and premiered at the Roma Internazionale Festa di Cinema and is streaming globally on Amazon Prime.
Ruth has been developing several cinema and TV projects including NIGHTFLOWERS, TOYGIRL, THE MEMORY OF WATER, and THE GOD PARTICLE, and was an international finalist of the 2024 Content London Digital Drama Pitch.
She also works as a director for commercials, is a member of the AWG, and lectures at Swinburne and SAE.
