"My freedom thus consists in my moving about within the narrow frame that I have assigned to myself for each one of my undertakings. I shall go even further: my freedom will be so much the greater and more meaningful the more narrowly I limit my field of action and the more I surround myself with obstacles. Whatever diminishes constraint diminishes strength. The more constraints one imposes, the more one frees oneself of the claims that shackle the spirit."

Bio
Kevin Hay is a lecturer at SAE Byron Bay.
“I make noises. I record sounds. I make software. If you need inspiration go outside, close your eyes, and open your ears.”
Kevin has been working with audio since he took apart his first cassette 4-track portastudio at about age 12 since then he has played in bands, exhibited sound art in galleries, recorded all over the place, hand-rolled software exploring procedural audio principles, and almost everything in between.
He’s been lucky to work with plug-in developers, sample pack providers and has been on many beta-testing teams. These days he’s in love with ambience and location recording and working with modular synthesis environments. The only rule he sticks to is “Sound is > no Sound”.
