Here are some frequently asked questions.

A full-time study load at SAE is measured using EFTSL (Equivalent Full-Time Study Load), rather than hours per week.

Typically, a full-time study load is 3 to 4 units of study (roughly 0.375 EFTSL) per trimester. This equates to 1.0 EFTSL per year, which is required for students to meet student visa conditions.

You can expect around 20 to 24 scheduled class hours each week, plus additional time for independent study and project work.

International students must study at an SAE campus. You can undertake one-third of your total course by online learning. You must be enrolled in at least one in-person course in a compulsory trimester.

Yes. All SAE courses are nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). This means your qualification is recognised across Australia and widely accepted internationally. Recognition can vary depending on the country or profession, please check with relevant professional bodies or local authorities if you plan to work overseas after graduation. As an international student, you will be admitted in line with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Framework, and SAE’s admission policies.

While entry requirements vary depending on the course you choose, most SAE courses typically require:

  • a qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 for undergraduate study; OR
  • a relevant bachelor degree for postgraduate study; AND
  • a minimum level of English proficiency.

Some courses may also include specific academic or portfolio requirements.
