SAE Software Innovation

SAE staff have developed free next-generation audio console simulators and technical ear training software.

SAE is a place of innovation and creativity, where students not only have access to industry-standard equipment and software, but our staff are also developing next-generation educational technologies to facilitate student learning.

An Audient mixing desk was chosen to be at the heart of the ground-breaking, SAE Audient ASP4816 Simulator. This game-changing innovation is the brainchild of SAE’s Dr. Mark Bassett. This unique digital tool provides students with remote access to a fully-functional, audio capable, photo-realistic simulation of the small format Audient ASP4816 console. It was developed as a learning and teaching tool to help students remotely develop a foundational understanding of the signal flow and operational idiosyncrasies of the console.
