SAE University College will offer six scholarships in 2025 to support budding talent to pursue their studies in the creative industries. The scholarships will support new students, ongoing students, Indigenous students and those enrolled in SAE’s brand new technology courses.

The scholarships are currently open to applicants, closing in November and December.

Scholarships have previously opened study opportunities for students from diverse backgrounds like Joel Ratcliff, a talented musician from Goolwa, South Australia. Joel wasn’t sure he would be able to afford the move to Adelaide to pursue his dream of studying a Bachelor of Music until he got a call while celebrating the end of his HSC exams with friends.

When I got the phone call I was so excited about it to be honest, and it has worked out really well,” he said.

Joel was one of several students to receive the Kickstarter Scholarship, which offers $10,000 towards tuition for high-achieving Year 12 students. It will be available to new students commencing a full-time bachelor degree in February 2025.

Joel, who performs under the stage name Joroll, is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music at SAE’s Adelaide campus while continuing to live in his hometown, 83km south of Adelaide.

“The Kickstarter Scholarship definitely gave me that relief to be able to study with the extra help and took a lot of stress off of the financial side of it. Studying at SAE has changed everything for me, and the scholarship was really instrumental in my ability to pursue these studies in Adelaide without leaving my hometown.”

SAE’s diverse scholarship program for 2024 will include more support for students like Joel, as well as two scholarships for Indigenous students, and a brand new scholarship supporting our first students in brand new technology courses.

The Creators in Technology Scholarships will commence in 2025 and offer 20 $8000 scholarships for students commencing the Bachelor of Computer Science or VFX & Virtual Production. The funding will be split across T1 2025 and T2 2025.
