ENTRY REQUIREMENTS DOMESTIC STUDENTS

At SAE we consider your creative potential and commitment to the Creative Industries, not just your academic history. This is why you don't need a minimum ATAR to study with us.

EXPERIENCE-BASED ENTRY

Whatever your age, your work and life experience count when it comes to entry at SAE. We will consider all your qualifications, studies, employment, and professional experience when you apply to study with us.

  • Seek admission to a course based on their educational and skills development through professional, work and/or life experience, creative practice and/or non-accredited study
  • Do not have the formal qualifications required for direct entry, and have achieved a minimum Year 10 level of schooling.

Experience-Based Entry Process

To apply via the Experience-Based Entry pathway, students are required to undertake an interview with SAE and provide supporting evidence that may include:

  • Records of any formal qualifications attained;
  • Evidence of any informal studies undertaken;
  • A resume or Curriculum Vitae (including names of referees) referring to work history and/or creative practice and/or volunteer or community engagement (if applicable);
  • A 200-300 word written statement describing your background, experience and aspirations in the creative industries;
  • Evidence of relevant materials that demonstrates creative aptitude, knowledge, technical skills and abilities

In addition, you may also be asked to undertake an exam or written assignment to satisfactorily demonstrate capacity to meet the course requirements or provide examples and/or a portfolio of work.

Some courses may require a minimum number of documented relevant work experience. This will be reflected on courses pages.
