Sydney film student wins big at Kogarah Film Festival

8 May 2014

SAE Sydney film student, Vincent Duvergé, has taken out Best Script, Best Actor and Best Film at the “Short Stuff” Film Festival of Kogarah.

Vincent’s winning film is titled “A Day with Godfrey” and stars himself as Godfrey, an arrogant but somewhat talentless actor.

“The film is… the story of his [Godfrey’s] intriguing life, narrated by the journalist who tried to understand the weird Godfrey,” Vincent says.

Vincent is not new to the short film-making scene, he has been making YouTube videos for two years and is currently one of the most watched YouTubers’ in his previous home country of Mauritius.

What started out as a simple hobby to make his friends laugh has now become a major part of his life.

Vincent has been studying at SAE Sydney since the start of this year and says his main goal is to become a film director, (however acting has also been a huge passion of his since he was four years-old, so he’d love to pursue it also).

Of studying at SAE, Vincent says, “I get to meet great, passionate people and all the subjects are extremely interesting”.

Vincent is currently looking for people who would like to collaborate with him in his YouTube videos.  Feel free to contact him through his Facebook page or via email if you’re interested.
