In exciting news, Trimester 2 will see the launch of SAE Australia’s new Masters program, the Master of Creative Industries (MCI).

The key focus of the program is to prepare graduates for strategic and leadership roles within the creative industries, and to encourage innovation in the sector.

SAE's Masters program is the next step to defining your creative niche, offering a progressive, learning experience like that of no other.

The first intake into SAE's Masters program will be in May 2017.

Program Overview

SAE's Master of Creative Industries is a program tailored by the individual student. The Masters program coordinators will help guide the selection of modules that meet both your individual creative, and professional aspirations, and that will provide you with the appropriate foundations for your capstone project.

The program consists of core modules (significant to all creative practitioners), elective modules (focusing on creative practice, innovation, entrepreneurship and marketing), and discipline specific electives across Audio, Film and Games.  You can choose from a wide selection of electives that will continually update in response to student and industry needs. 

The program will be delivered 100% online, with the ability to use the facilities and equipment at any SAE campus around Australia. It has been designed for graduates of creative media, or a related discipline, to:

  • extend and deepen their knowledge and skills in their current discipline
  • broaden their knowledge and skills in other related creative media disciplines
  • develop entrepreneurship and marketing skills
  • embed research in creative practice

The Masters program will be FEE-HELP eligible.  You will have the option to study full-time over four trimesters, or opt for a reduced part-time load so your studies can fit into your working schedule.

Career Outlook

Students who complete SAE's graduate program will be equipped to take on strategic and leadership roles within the creative industries. Graduates will have the skills and knowledge to work in such roles as; Producer, Director, Filmmaker, Game Developer, Transmedia Content Developer, Media Designer, Entrepreneur and Media Advisor positions, amongst others.
