Introducing Win A Trip comp winner Mathieu Mayfield

6 Mar 2019

Mathieu Mayfield booked and attended an SAE campus tour in Brisbane and by doing so has become the lucky recipient of the Win a Trip competition.

After his tour of the campus in November 2018 he subsequently went on to enrol with SAE and is currently studying a Diploma of Games.

Winning the competition meant having the choice to visit one of three SAE campuses in either London, Paris or New York, Mathieu has chosen to visit London.

What does it mean to you to have won the SAE Win-a-Trip competition?

Thank you for the opportunity of a lifetime. I never dreamed of winning such a trip even though we always fill in the forms and hope for the best.  When I received the phone call I was waiting for the bus to travel to my SAE class in Brisbane and was quite shocked and taken back. It took quite a while to sink in.

Why did you choose London as your destination?

Winning the SAE Win-a-Trip Competition gives me the opportunity to see how other SAE campuses operate, I chose the London SAE because it is the forefront of music and it has been a passion since early high school. It also has a very rich history in both music and IT.

Who are you planning on taking with you?

I am planning to take my mum Ann because she has always encouraged me to follow my dreams and helped me chose SAE as a career opportunity.

What are you most looking forward to?

The things I am looking forward to in London is to see how music and gaming can blend together from another perspective and meet new people and visit different places.

You won the trip through booking a tour with SAE Brisbane, how was that experience?

The tour of SAE Brisbane though informal was very informative, and opened my eyes to the different ways of learning, especially the hands on stuff you do at SAE. My guide Taryn made me feel comfortable and she was easy to talk to.

You are now studying the Diploma of Games at SAE Brisbane, how are you finding the course so far?

I am finding the Diploma of Gaming challenging but enjoyable, I am enjoying the Game Mechanics and Dynamics module the most.
