Flickerfest lands in Perth!

28 Feb 2019

Flickerfest is still on its journey across the country and today the much loved festival lands in Perth.

Proud festival sponsor SAE continues to be involved in great films selected to be shown as part of the programme.

Perth Film Lecturer Tim Fox’s short film titled Jump was shown at the Bondi premiere in January. A quirky romp through dimensions, Jump is a story of love and the power of staying true to yourself.

Tim was inspired to make Jump as quirky and engaging as possible. “So many short films have a ‘message’, which is important, but I also think it’s important for fun short stories to have a place on screens as well.”

Part of a wider six film anthology called The Bench, all stories feature around an average park bench. Don’t let the seemingly restrictive context fool you, each film in the series is wildly different, bursting with imagination and creativity.

Another local Perth film titled Calling will be screening on Saturday as part of Comedy Shorts. Calling explores the highs and lows of a mother/daughter relationship through the daily phone calls the two share.

Three members of the awesome SAE Perth crew Christopher Phillip (Sound Recordist), Stephen Callan (Score) and Brandon Davids (Sound Designer) worked on Calling with Director, Writer, Co-Producer and Lead Miley Tunnecliffe.
