Pre-Trimester Masterclasses
SAE Institute welcomes you to an exclusive series, Pre-Trimester Masterclasses run by our expert facilitators in Animation, Audio & Music, Design, Film, and Games.
This free series gives you early access to our talented lecturers prior to your study commencement; giving you the opportunity to learn all the tips and tricks from industry professionals before the trimester has even started.
Interested in experiencing a different discipline from the one you’re enrolled in? This masterclass series is for you. Students can explore any discipline of their choice, or learn new concepts for their current projects. This series is designed to inspire and re-invent your passion for your craft, no matter what creative area that falls into.
Why sign up for the masterclass series? It can open doors you hadn’t imagined, not only can you explore new disciplines, but on successful completion of each Masterclass Series, you’ll receive a certificate for your achievements that will be recorded on your academic transcript when you graduate. Industry Masterclasses – How it works
Masterclass 1
You are invited to attend your first 3-hour online Masterclass with an industry professional. You will have a unique view into their private working environment and see firsthand how an industry professional works.
Masterclass 2
During the following week, you will be invited to a second 3-hour masterclass with an industry professional further exploring the subject matter.
The Pre – Trimester Masterclasses are available to both new commencing and continuing students.
We hold Masterclasses three times a year before the Trimester begins – February, May, and September.

2022 Trimester One
January 17 – January 21, 2022 – LinkedIn Learning course
January 24 – January 28, 2022 – Week 1 of Masterclass delivery
January 31 – February 4, 2022 – Week 2 of Masterclass delivery
Week One
17th January – 21st January 2022 – Self-paced courses
During a 1-week period, you will be able to complete a prescribed self-paced online course via LinkedIn Learning for which you will be awarded a certificate. It can be in any discipline of your choice. Simply upload your LinkedIn Learning certificate to campus online and you will be granted access to 2 free masterclasses run by SAE industry professionals in each subject.
Week Two
24th January – 28th January 2022 – Masterclass 1
Having completed your online course, you are invited to attend your first 3 hour online Masterclass with an industry professional. You will have a unique view into their private working environment and see first-hand how an industry professional works.
Week Three
31st January – 4th February 2022 – Masterclass 2
During this week, you will be invited to a second 3-hour masterclass with an industry professional further exploring the subject matter.
Professional Reflection
At the end of the masterclasses, you will be requested to reflect in 300 words on the skills you have explored and how you see yourself applying these skills in your own projects.
On successful completion of each Masterclass Series, you will receive a certificate of completion and your achievements will be recorded on your academic transcript when you graduate.
