Geoffrey HillDepartment Coordinator, Chair
Geoffrey is a game developer and programmer having worked on a number of projects including as a programmer for a collaboration with the Australian College of Applied Psychology masters project exploring psychosis empathy in clinical staff. Geoffrey won People’s choice for a VR horror game as part of Global Game Jam 2014. Before games, Geoff worked as a Cisco call control and wireless systems engineer for a decade before directing his technical expertise towards games programming.
He is active in the Game Development community and has previously been in roles including Chapter Leader of IGDA Sydney since 2015 – 2018, head of Global Game Jam Sydney, and numerous community events for the Sydney game development community.
Currently Chair of the Games Course Committee, and Department Coordinator at SAE Institute Melbourne. He has been lecturing in Games Development for over 7 years. Geoffrey is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Melbourne, has a Masters of Creative Industries from Western Sydney University, and a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment with a Major in Games Programming from SAE Institute.
