SAE Film students documenting for charity cycle ride

Film students in the Bachelor of Film program at SAE Melbourne have recently taken part in the completion of a corporate TVC for Chain Reaction, a long distance cycling event for senior executives with a passion for cycling to raise money for sick children.

As part of their Trimester 2 Production 1 module of the Bachelor of Film, students put together a series of videos for the event to help raise awareness for the charity cycling group. SAE Melbourne Film Department Coordinator, Darcy Yuille, said it was amazing for SAE students as they gained “real world experience pitching directly to the client, executing the shoot and editing the story”.

The “Ultimate Corporate Bike Challenge’” fundraising initiative has raised $18,475,375.00 dollars for children’s charities, and so far in 2016 the Queensland and Victorian rides have been completed with the New South Wales event coming up in mid-May.

Darcy also documented his participation in the Chain Reaction charity cycle ride, producing two video diaries.

The relationship between SAE and Chain Reaction will continue this trimester with film students will continuing to cover the remaining events across the country.
