To celebrate NSW Youth Week (10-18 April 2019) Tweed Shire Council is hosting a Youth Music Forum in Murwillumbah on Thursday 18th April and will feature live performances, panel discussions and presentations from key industry and educational professionals from the region, including SAE Creative Media Institute.

General Manager of SAE Australia Lee Aitken says that SAE Byron Bay campus is proud to be involved in and support grassroots community events in the Northern Rivers region such as these.

“SAE is a champion of the local music community and our involvement in Tweed Shire Council’s Youth Music Forum shows our dedication to fostering and supporting our region’s next generation of talent.”

SAE Byron Bay National Course Advisor and aspiring music artist in her own right, Madelaine Spinos will feature on the Music Education & Research panel and will talk options for those looking to study, and make a career in the music and audio industry.

“I love being a part of the vibrant musical lifestyle in the Northern Rivers through my work and studies. My role at SAE also allows me to open the doors to the youth of the region interested in this industry.”

Event organiser and Community Development Officer for Tweed Shire council David Burgener, says the event is the first of its kind run by council in the shire.

“We have identified a need for these types of community engagement events, especially as there is such a rich musical presence in the area”

“This is a great opportunity for the community to learn and connect directly with the music industry and with others sharing the same interests. ”

Youth Music Forum will be held on Thursday 18 April at the Regent Cinema Murwillumbah from 5-8 pm.
