Professional Bio:

I've taught animation and visual effects for the past 15 years. I've also worked as an animator though I've since hung up the freelance to focus on my art practice; a kind of roaming, postphenomenological exploration of photography. You know the Mars Rover? I'm like an Earth Rover but without the space agency to transmit to.

In a past life, I was the Academic Coordinator of Qantm Melbourne.

What music are you loving right now?

Why do you love working at SAE?

I have to give this one to my students. I love going on the journey with them each trimester. If I could have 5 days in the studio with them I'd be there.

What is the best fun fact about yourself?

I was a regional chess champion when I was 12... dizzying heights...

How do you like to spend your time outside of SAE?

Learning how to be a dad. Sometimes, I even have the energy for animation and photography.

What is your life motto?

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler" - this Einstein quote is my reminder not to overcomplicate things.

And for my students I defer to the wisdom of Kelloggs and Clint Eastwood: "you only get out what you put in.

What is your dream holiday destination?

I'm an explorer, so really, anywhere but here!

Are you working on any exciting projects at the moment?

There's this art project of mine that I occasionally prod and gawk at. I reckon I'll kick it into motion soon. I'm upgrading the Earth Rover.
