This week sees the Game Connect Asia Pacific​ (GCAP) conference take place at Melbourne's Convention & Exhibition Centre on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd November.

SAE ​has a long-standing relationship with GCAP ​and is one of only two education providers who are members ​with the gaming organisation.

This year SAE Brisbane Games Lecturer ​Tony Parmenter will be speaking at the event with a presentation titled A Series Of Interesting Questions. ​

With a long list of successful, award-winning games to his credit, Tony Parmenter is a well known and highly experienced Australian game developer. Launching into his career in 2001, Tony has worked in many roles, from Environment Artist and Lead Artist, to Level Designer and Producer.

For over a decade Tony worked with the internationally respected Krome Studios in Brisbane, producing games for publishers such as LucasArts, Microsoft, EA, and Activision. As Lead Artist he shipped Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Wii, PS2, PSP), which sold in excess of 4.5 million units to date worldwide, while also managing an art team of over 40 people. As a Lead Environment Artist and Level Designer on Krome’s flagship IP, the TY the Tasmanian Tiger franchise (PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PC), he shipped all four titles which sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.

During Tony’s time at Krome he represented the company at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in LA, attended key project presentation meetings at LucasArts headquarters in San Francisco, and continues to be a regular speaker and panelist at industry conferences GCAP (Game Connect Asia Pacific) and PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) Aus.

Most recently Tony has turned his sights on education, taking on the role of Games Lecturer at SAE Brisbane while continuing to co-host The 1st 10 Minutes, a game analysis podcast, and Downloadable Context, a podcast that interviews developer.
