Born in Los Angeles, producing out of Byron Bay, Daniel Cordero from SAE Byron is a current Film student, previously graduating with a Bachelor of Audio. Art is his passion - Music, Film and Photography is his world.

As a musician and music producer, Daniel's music is elegant and fresh, combining a mix of organic and electronic instruments to craft his unique sound influenced by the French house music scene. He started his music career in 2009, DJing at house parties and private events in California, and later moving onto playing at nightclubs in Florida. While serving in the US Navy, he would perform for fellow sailors and marines. After six years serving his country as a Navy Rescue Swimmer/Sonar Operator, he decided to pursue his passion for music and dedicated his life to becoming an artist, enrolled in Audio at SAE Institute in Hollywood.

Daniel Cordero: Student of SAE

What projects have you worked on?  What did you produce in this project?
I’ve worked on many projects such as my own music productions and music videos for various artists including myself. I also recently completed my first year of business, so I’d have to say that the one project I’m most proud of is starting my own photography business.

I’ve done many things in my career but what I enjoy the most is specialising in concert and event photography. Being surrounded by artists all the time, I’m constantly inspired and influenced by everyone I work for. I’ve worked at various music festivals including Bluesfest, Splendour in the Grass and Island Vibe. Currently I’m filming music videos, commercials, shooting for the Byron shire council, and building web content for local businesses.

My work is on displayed on my facebook page: @casjphotography

Who do you follow on social media?
I follow Ed Banger Records (my favorite music label), various photographers and people I want to work with, such as fashion designers and sunglass companies.

Can you share a Spotify playlist/artist that inspires you?
The Weekend. How good is their song, I Feel It Coming feat. Daft Punk!

What are your goals after finishing studies at SAE Institute?
My goals in life are to work with my inspirations… and travel the world freely!

I’ve been fortunate enough to shoot for some of my biggest musical influences such as Busy P (Pedro Winter), manager of Daft Punk for 12 years and owner of my favorite record label, Ed Banger Records. It would be a huge dream to shoot for his record label, or make music with him and his artists. I’d say my biggest dream would be to collaborate with Daft Punk one day. We can only dream!
