Animation Student Jasmine Moody a Finalist in SIPFest

29 Apr 2014

Congratulations to Brisbane student Jasmine Moody for being selected as a finalist in last weekend’s Shorts In Paradise Short Film Festival (SIPFest).

The program featured premium Australian short films of any genre, with a panel of industry judges joining the public in voting for best film. Jasmine says she was truly elated to be chosen as a finalist, as she put a lot of time and effort into her film ‘Stray’, and it has inspired her to continue making more animated shorts.

‘Stray’ is about a dog’s quest to find a friend, and was completed in just 13 weeks as part of her studies at SAE Brisbane. The project was produced using Photoshop, Flash and Adobe After Effects, and is dedicated to her dog Bella.

She says, “Even as my studies come to an end, I plan to keep doing what I love most: Animation. I’ve recently been employed as a freelance storybook illustrator and 2D Animator for a company in Brisbane.”

The Animation Career Review recently voted SAE Australia as the country’s best Animation School, and in the Top 25 in the world - it’s easy to see why with results like this.
