While Andre Comaru is stationed at the SAE head office in Byron Bay, its not the laid backed lifestyle you might expect from this musical surfer. Besides working full time at SAE, Andre runs the not for profit organisation Be Happy Music Club in Fiji. We get to know this member of the #SAECREW a bit better.
THE FUN STUFF
Why do you love working at SAE?
Being surrounded by creative minds who are passionate about what they are studying
What is the best fun fact about yourself?
Back in 2006 I decided to quit my job, jump in a van and play music with my punk rock band called Oitavada. We did it for a few years, recorded 2 EPs and one full album, released by an underground label in Brazil called Empire Records. We also launched a music clip, which reached MTV Brazil and got us lots of gigs around the country.
How do you like to spend your time outside of SAE?
Surfing and playing music
What is your life motto?
"Don't ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive" - Howard Thurman
What is your dream holiday destination?
Are you working on any exciting projects at the moment?
I run a not-for-profit organisation called "Be Happy Music Club" which helps Fijian children living with a disability through music.
