SUPPORTING YOUR LEARNING

SAE offers a range of services to support you in your studies:

  • Expert Studio Supervisors are on hand to assist you with the use of specialist facilities, technical advice and access to equipment
  • Electronic resources, on-campus and online, email
  • IT staff to provide email, web and network support
  • Library and academic staff provide tutorials for study skills, information navigation and research, and writing skills
  • Special learning needs are treated confidentially and expertly
  • Individual classes for personalised support
  • Printing, copying and scanning facilities

Student Services staff can help you with all administrative matters including:

  • Course information
  • Application and admission
  • Forms and student records
  • Orientation
  • Timetables and campus information
  • Fees and payments
  • Graduation

SUPPORTING YOUR WELLBEING

SAE Student Services staff provide guidance and support on an array of non-academic matters including:

  • Time and study management skills
  • Accommodation, transport and local services
  • Healthy and effective study practices
  • Confidential liaison for contact to professional services in health, social services, finance and counselling

SUPPORTING STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

SAE is committed to supporting students with special needs.  If you have a special need, you should discuss this with the Student Services Advisor, Campus Academic Coordinator or Campus Manager. Student Services staff can assist you with making contact with these people.  You can help us with designing support for you by providing any professional advice from accredited practitioners, e.g. doctors or other medical professionals, during the application or enrolment process.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT

SAE does NOT offer any formal English language support, but we do encourage International Students who wish to study at SAE to contact our preferred Navitas pathways Partners, Navitas English and Hawthorne-Melbourne English Language Centre.

Pathways programs into:

Bachelor and Associate courses: 

  • Academic English 3 - Navitas English 
  • English for Academic Purposes 3 - Hawthorne-Melbourne 

Diploma courses:

  • Academic English 2 - Navitas English 
  • English for Academic Purposes 2 - Hawthorne-Melbourne

To enrol within SAE directly, International Students must give evidence of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of:  

Bachelor and Associate courses: 

  • 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5

Diploma courses:

  • 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0. 

International Students must also be 18 years or over upon enrolment; and must have completed secondary studies (assessed equivalent of Australian Yr 12). 

APPLYING FOR HEALTHCARE

It is a legislative and Australian requirement that all student visa holders must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) while they are in Australia*. Students are not permitted to enter Australia before their health insurance has begun. SAE Institute can arrange OSHC on your behalf through Allianz OSHC Worldcare. * The following students are considered to have adequate health insurance and do not need to purchase OSHC: Norwegian students covered by the National Insurance Scheme, Swedish students who have insurance provided by CSN International and Belgian students.
