Energy Groove Radio

You will work with qualified trainers who have extensive industry experience in both the commercial and independent media sectors.

* At the end of this course you will be able to:
­ * Operate the Energy Groove Radio studio panel & play-­out software.
­ * Confidently present content on live radio.
­ * Edit audio and produce a radio package.
­ * Critique, self­-assess and improve your own presentation and vocal delivery.

The course runs over four evening sessions, which run for three­-hours each:

Session 1: Studio introduction & panel operation
Session 2: Writing & producing content for radio
Session 3: Voice­-overs & vocal delivery techniques
Session 4: Present a live radio program

Upon completion of the course you can apply to the On­-Air Manager & Programs Editor for a program slot on Energy Groove Radio. The content you will produce through the course can be used for professional portfolio purposes, and when applying for SAE diploma & degree courses.

Entry requirements

SAE recognise that preparation for study is not restricted to formal educational attainment and that valuable intellectual and skills development can be gained through experience.

Alternative entry may be granted subject to a satisfactory skills and aptitude assessment normally undertaken through an interview process.

SAE will review applications on a case by case basis if you:

  • Do not have the outlined formal qualifications required for entry
  • Seek admission to courses on the basis of your educational and skills development through professional, work and/or life experience and/or non-accredited study.

To apply via alternative entry, students will need to undertake an interview with an assigned representative of SAE and will be required to provide supporting evidence that may include:

  • Records of any formal qualifications attained
  • Evidence of any informal studies undertaken
  • References relating to work history relevant to the chosen field of study, if applicable
  • A resume or curriculum vitae 
  • A portfolio of relevant materials that demonstrates creative, technical and intellectual skills and abilities.
  • Post-graduates only: the provision of substantive evidence demonstrating capability to meet formal requirements for post-graduate study.

In addition, candidates may also be asked to undertake an exam or written assignment to satisfactorily demonstrate capacity to meet the course requirements.

In all cases, alternative entry into a degree course will only be granted to students with at least a Year 10 level of schooling.

To enrol for this course, please register your interest by email to l.burns@sae.edu or by phone to (02) 8241 5219.

To finalise an enrolment, applicants will be asked to complete an enrolment form and provide proof of birth (birth certificate, passport) and photo identification (driver's license, 18+ card, passport). There are no prior educational requirements or pre­existing knowledge required to study the Short Course in Digital Broadcasting, and enrolment confirmation will be made once payment is received.
