SAE Australia offers a range of scholarships to assist students during their studies. Our scholarship program is about investing in future professionals and rewarding creative and academic excellence.

About our Scholarship Program

SAE Creative Media Institute offer scholarships to outstanding creative media applicants. SAE Scholarships are awarded to recognise creative talent coupled with academic excellence and outstanding leadership. There are a number of scholarship programs aspiring students can apply for in 2018 with over $230,000 worth of tuition support on offer.

SCHOLARSHIPS CLOSE 30th OCTOBER 2017.

Notification of scholarship recipients will take place between November 2017 and February 2018.

Creative Media Scholarship

Creative Media Scholarships are awarded to current high-achieving Year 12 students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarly ability as well as strong leadership skills and creative potential. The aim of this scholarship is to assist graduating secondary school students and provide them with an opportunity to develop skills and achieve their goals within the creative media industry.

Scholarship Award

1 x Full Scholarship (Bachelor Program)

3 x Partial Scholarships (Associate Degree and Bachelor Programs)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 17 years old (turning 18 in the year of commencement)
  • Scholarships are only available for students completing Year 12 in 2017
  • Applicants must meet SAE's published entry requirements
  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Applicants must be commencing students who have not previously studied with SAE

Creative Indigenous Scholarship

An Indigenous scholarship is awarded to a current Year 12 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student, who has shown high academic achievement, strong leadership skills and a creative passion. The aim of this scholarship is to assist Indigenous Australians and provide them with an opportunity to develop skills and achieve their goals within the creative media industry.

Scholarship Award

1 x Full Scholarship (Bachelor Program)

Eligibility Criteria

  • Minimum 17 years old (turning 18 in the year of commencement)
  • Scholarships are only available for students completing Year 12 in 2017
  • Applicants must meet SAE's published entry requirements
  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Applicants must be commencing students who have not previously studied with SAE
  • Applicants must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage

Master Creative Media Scholarship

SAE is pleased to offer Master Creative Media Scholarships in 2018. They are awarded to high-achieving applicants who have demonstrated outstanding Industry engagement, professional achievement, strong leadership skills and creative potential. The aim of these scholarship is to support Master students achieve their goals within the creative media industry.

Scholarship Award

2 x Partial Scholarships (Master Program) value $5,000 each

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants must meet SAE's published entry requirements
  • Applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • SAE Alumni applicants will be viewed favourably

Scholarship Terms and Conditions

These scholarships are awarded in line with the following terms and conditions:

  • The recipient is the sole holder of the scholarship in a specified program;
  • The scholarship must be taken in the February intake of 2018.
  • The scholarship is non-transferrable and cannot be exchanged for monetary value;
  • Partial scholarships amounts are applicable only to the later portion of the study program, and successful students MUST progress successfully to the end of their qualification to remain eligible for the scholarship award.
  • Scholarship recipients agree to undertake ambassador duties on behalf of SAE. This involves attendance and participation at key events such as Expos, Open Days and other campus initiatives;
  • All recipients of all scholarship awards must maintain a high academic standard across all units of study and must not fail any module of study;
  • Recipients agree to be profiled for marketing and promotion purposes. This may include, but not limited to, providing photos and profile information for SAE’s website, newsletters, advertising and other marketing collateral;
  • Scholarships entitle the recipient to undertake approved modules of study from the program in which the scholarship is held, and
  • Full and partial Scholarships are for tuition fees only.
  • Scholarships are only available for students completing Year 12 in 2017. (With the exception of the Master Creative Media Scholarship)
  • Note: The Institute is not obliged to award a Scholarship if it is determined that there were no suitable commencing student applicants. Should scholarship holders fail to meet any condition the scholarship may be reviewed or terminated.

Application Process

1) Fill out the Scholarship Application form below.

2) Fill out an Apply Now form to enrol to study for the February 2018 intake

3) Email your Scholarship Application form and supporting documents to scholarshipau@sae.edu

All Creative Media and Indigenous scholarship applications must include the following:

  • A completed application form, including nomination of the type of scholarship being applied for;
  • Evidence of eligibility of criteria: Eg. Passport, Birth Certificate, proof of descent, Secondary School records (Note: Year 12 mid year results are required in order for applications to be accepted);
  • A cover letter explaining the reasons for applying for the Creative Media or Indigenous Scholarship which includes what they aim to get out of their time at SAE and why they should be considered for the scholarship;
  • A portfolio* of creative work demonstrating excellence (25MB limit);
  • Two written references supporting applicant's creative and personal achievements (Eg. School Principal, Employer or both)

Partial scholarship applicants must also include the following:

  • A completed application form, including nomination of the partial scholarship
  • Evidence of eligibility criteria: Eg Passport, Birth Certificate
  • Detail in 100 words or less your passion and dedication to the creative arts and why you should be considered for a partial scholarship, including detail of any exemplary activity, community engagement or project work undertaken.

*As a guideline, we accept URL links to non-downloadable portfolios, such as Soundcloud, YouTube, personal websites and other digital media channels. Your portfolio should include examples that display your best design skills, illustrations, showreels, audio files and other work relevant to the course you are applying for.
